Grand Forks County State’s Attorney announces resignation plan – withdraws application for district judgeship
State’s Attorney Peter Welte to join law firm representing Boardwalk Enterprises

Grand Forks County State’s Attorney Peter D. Welte announced on Monday he will be resigning from his position. According to The Herald, Welte said his decision was prompted by an email he received from Vogel Law Firm that asked him if he would be interested in returning to private practice. On August 1, 2014, The Herald reported that communications from EGF City Administrator David Murphy indicated Vogel Law Firm is the attorney for Boardwalk Enterprises. Welte was contacted regarding questions about any attorney-client relationship that may be created by his transition to Vogel Law Firm. An auto-reply from Welte’s office states he will be out of the office until December 15. |
